What online accounting actually is.

Online accounting is not a cheaper version of a real firm. It is the same qualified people, looking at live numbers instead of a carrier bag in April. We set up the software, connect the bank, and keep the books current for businesses across the UK from our Nelson and Warrington offices.

4 lines, all included

Software set-up
Chart of accounts, bank feeds, VAT scheme and user access, configured, not dumped on you.
Making Tax Digital
Digital links from software to HMRC. When MTD expands, you are already on the right side of it.
A named reviewer
Someone qualified looks at the books each month. The dashboard is not left to guesswork.
Support that answers
Same-day response before 4pm. Not a chatbot, not a 48-hour SLA.

You probably need this if

Signs you need online accounting

  • Making Tax Digital is on a letter you have not opened
  • The bank feed has not been reconciled since the last VAT quarter
  • You have software and still email a bookkeeper screenshots
  • You want a human, not another login

Online Accounting

Who it is usually for

UK-wide clients

The books live in the cloud. The accountant is still a named person in Lancashire.

Switchers from paper

A bank feed and a chart of accounts beat a carrier bag in April.

Teams already on Xero or FreeAgent

We join the file. We do not make you migrate for sport.

Three steps. Then it is just a calendar.

No onboarding theatre. We take the file, put a named accountant on it, and the deadlines go in the diary.

  1. 01

    Pick the stack

We recommend Xero, FreeAgent, Sage or QuickBooks based on how you actually work.

  2. 02

    Connect the bank

Feeds, opening balances and last year’s numbers come across cleanly.

  3. 03

    Run it live

You invoice. We review. VAT and accounts stop being a once-a-year event.

In plain English

Online Accounting, written properly

Online accounting is the delivery, not a cheaper firm

Cloud software (Xero, FreeAgent, Sage or QuickBooks) is how the numbers stay current. The value is a qualified person looking at those numbers every month, not a dashboard left to guess. We set up the stack, connect the bank, and keep the books MTD-ready for businesses that will never visit Nelson or Warrington, and for those who will.

Making Tax Digital as a feature

HMRC wants VAT (and more of the tax system) filed from software with a digital link. Screenshots of a portal do not count. We keep that link working so the next rule change is a software update, not a project. If you are approaching the VAT threshold, we watch the rolling twelve months rather than the tax year.

Online Accounting FAQs

No. If you already use Xero, FreeAgent, Sage or QuickBooks we join you there. If you are on paper, we pick the simplest fit.

No. Restaurants, landlords, trades and clinics use it because the bank feed does the typing.

HMRC wants VAT (and soon more tax) filed from software with a digital link. We keep that link working so you do not.
